TRAINING WITH TYNEE

These programs are open to all dancers of all ages.  Each program has specific criteria that has been custom tailored to ensure steady growth and development.  All of this work is conducted in a safe, positive and open environment.  Individual feedback is provided throughout the course.  Learning from one another through this process is just as valued as learning from your mentor, Tynee. 

HIP HOP I

  • Student has little experience in hip hop dance.  Hip Hop fundamentals and foundation is essential throughout this course.  Not only understanding the movement required for each course but also it’s history and origins.

  • History & Breakdown of Hip Hop Foundation: Popping, Breaking, Locking, House, Waving, Grooves, etc. 

  • Training in choreography, skills, tricks, improvisation 

  • Personal Goal Setting - Creating strategic and individualized plans for each student

  • Picking up choreography fast (timed exercises) 

  • Training in picking up choreography and reversal of entire piece of choreography

  • Dance Workout Training - cardio, core exercises, stretching 

  • Tour Choreography (stage) vs. Hip Hop Class Choreography 

  • Creating their own choreography to a song of their choice but must incorporate hip hop fundamental styles

  • Weekly hip hop combos

HIP HOP II

  • Requirement: have already completed level 1 hip hop mentorship with Tynee or meet the requirements to be in level 2

  • Stylized focus on foundation that you acquired from level 1

  • Resume & Headshot review and workshop, slating for camera, at-home dos & don’ts

  • Personal Goal Setting - Creating strategic and individualized plans for each student

  • Discussions on personal branding and self representation within the dance community (clothing choices, hair styles, overall look, social media presence & more)

  • Networking - discussions & development in assisting your direction moving forward to achieve your goals

  • Dancing for camera, facials & emotions

  • Creating their own solo choreography

  • Confidence building exercises within dance 

  • Focusing on freestyle drills and techniques to further develop your personal style

  • Weekly hip hop combos

HIP HOP III

  • Requirement: have already completed level 2 hip hop mentorship with Tynee or meet the requirements to be in level 3

  • Personal Goal Setting - Creating strategic and individualized plans for each student

  • Warm up, cardio & stretching every class. 

  • Focus on Instruction:

    • Each dancer will have to run a warm up on a designated day to practice assisting. 

    • Teach a two 8 count combo to a fellow dancer on zoom to practice teaching and speaking.

  • Creating Your Own Concept Video - Lighting, costuming, filming plan, angled shots, storyboard, etc. 

  • Grooves - Harder sequences and patterns from old school to new school variations 

  • Freestyle Drills & Concepts + how to make up your own so you can continue to train and evolve long after this program

  • Broadening your dance vocabulary within hip hop dance

  • Personal Branding - Business, personal style, look, & more 

  • Battle in specific styles: i.e. house, breakin'

  • Weekly Homework to work on personal growth throughout the program

  • Learning stylized hip hop combos weekly - Street Jazz, Hip Hop, House, Locking, etc. 

BREAKIN'

  • Can have little to no to extensive experience within breakin' - this program will focus on every aspect of breakin'.  Importantly, mastering these foundations as a whole and learning how to incorporate them together.

  • Focusing on freestyle drills and techniques to further develop your personal style

  • Top rock

  • Transitions to the floor

  • Footwork

  • Floor work

  • Basic power moves

  • Freezes

  • Strength & endurance training

  • Online battle class
